The ancient city of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur is located in Mahakoshal region in the heart of India where holy Narmada River passes through different places. The city is named after Jabali Rishi and it was earlier called “Jabalipuram”. Later on, it was renamed to Jabalpur. It is well regarded for its historical importance. Jabalpur is also covered by huge spectacles of nature and Dhuandhar Falls are one of the best examples of natural beauty.

Marble Rocks
Located around 25 km from Jabalpur, Bhedaghat is a small village on the banks of River Narmada. Tourists visit here for a boat ride to Marble Rocks which are carved by the river and the boat takes you through a beautiful gorge of over 3 km. This giant rock is made of dolomite, calcite and other recrystallized carbonate minerals.
Bargi Dam
Among the chain of 30 dams on River Narmada, Bargi Dam was one of the first dams. It is located around 40 km from Jabalpur. You can also enjoy a boat ride here.
Dhuandhar Falls
Passing through Marble Rocks, Narmada River narrows down and plunges in the waterfall can form a smoke cascade. Due to this natural phenomenon, it is known as Dhuandhar Waterfalls. The plunge is so strong that one can hear the roar afar.
Gwarighat
Known for its spiritual importance thanks to Narmada River Pooja and Gurudwara on the other side of River Narmada, Gwarighat is such a peaceful place where you shouldn’t miss Narmada Aarti every evening.
Balancing Rocks
Located at the foothills of Madan Mahal Fort, Balancing Rocks is another natural phenomenon which is balanced over another rock without any support. The city is itself covered by rocky and low-rise barren hills formed by a volcanic eruption that happened millions of years ago.
Kachnar City
It is another religious tourist destination for both locals and outsiders as it is well known for Lord Shiva’s tall statue in a meditating position built in 2004.
Dumna Nature Reserve
This ecotourism site is the serene and peaceful attraction for the tourists to explore the rich wildlife, forest lands and a dam as it spreads over 1058 hectares.
Rani Durgavati Museum
Established in 1976, Rani Durgavati Museum is located at the city center. You can find the iconic collection of inscriptions, prehistoric relics, and sculptures. The museum closes on Monday and opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
